The Viticulture and Enology Alumni Association is comprised of alumni and friends of viticulture and enology program at Fresno State.

The once separate viticulture and enology alumni groups officially combined their memberships into one organization, the Viticulture and Enology Alumni Association (VEAA).   This unity mirrored the creation of the Department of Viticulture and Enology in 2000, with the hope that graduates would one day become active members of the VEAA.

Today, this active group represents many individuals in the grape and wine industry who are dedicated to enhancing the programs and activities in the Department of Viticulture and Enology. Their individual and collective support has made a difference!

The VEAA's primary cause has been to provide financial support to the V. E. Petrucci Library, an important resource within our Department of Viticulture and Enology that is available to students, staff, faculty, research scientists, and the community. Named for Vincent E. Petrucci, founder of the viticulture and enology programs at Fresno State, the library supports and continues this legacy of excellence in academics, research, and extension in the heart of California's Central Valley.

MATCHING CHALLENGE IN 2014 RAISED A TOTAL OF $92,330

In January 2014, the VEAA announced a matching challenge of up to $40,000 during an annual reunion at the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium in Sacramento hosted by the department and VEAA. 

The matching challenge is by former department chair, Dr. Robert Wample and his wife Pam.  The Wample family has offered a dollar-for-dollar matching challenge of up to $40,000 on gifts to the VEAA until December 31, 2014 in hopes of raising a combined $80,000 to support the V. E. Petrucci Library.  Read more here.
