Department of Viticulture and Enology
Each year, approximately 150 viticulture and enology students take advantage of the extraordinary opportunities that this one-of-a-kind program offers to become future leaders in the industry.
Our graduates can be found in leading grape and wine positions around the nation and world, thanks to our applied, hands-on training in classes, our Viticulture and Enology Research Center (VERC), and our Fresno State Winery (the nation's first winery on a college campus and still the largest).
Our faculty, staff and students are equally dedicated to solution-driven research and community outreach events to disseminate knowledge and information and lead the industry in new directions.
Recent Facility Updates
Thanks to the generous support of donors and industry supporters, our program has completed a new viticulture greenhouse (construction video / story / ABC30, groundbreaking event video), and renovations to the V. E. Petrucci Library to create additional study space and internet access (donor thank-you video from our students).
Join our Viticulture and Enology Associate Supporters!
The Viticulture and Enology Associates Campaign is an ongoing fundraising effort by the Department of Viticulture and Enology and the Viticulture and Enology Research Center to help fill the gap between funding that the state of California is able to provide and the high quality of instruction and research our industry has grown to expect.
