Imelda Dudley

Experience: Since joining campus in December 2010, she has supported students in a variety of student success initiatives including: Student Success Counselor for the Commitment to Latino/a Success and Excellence Program, Graduate Outreach Specialist for the Graduate Net Initiative, Coordinator of Internships and Professional Experiences for the Jordan Advising and Career Development Center, and Counselor Placement Coordinator for the Counseling, Education, and Rehabilitation Department.
Education: Imelda is a two-time graduate of Fresno State, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Family and Consumer Sciences and her Master of Science in Education Administration and Leadership.
Personal: Imelda and her husband Ryan have two children. A daughter named Leonora, and a son named Cruz. In her spare time Imelda enjoys spending time with family, friends and traveling.
Nyxy Morgan

Experience: Nyxy is an active leader currently on campus and in previous staff and campus committee positions. Previous advising and counseling experience comes from working with the Services for Students with Disabilities office (SSD) for 7 years. She specializes in accommodations and is currently an expert in working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She has hands-on experience with working with a variety of individuals with disabilities like ADD, ADHD, hidden disabilities and temporary disabilities. She continues to be an ally to SSD. She is also a VET NET ALLY which specializes in working with students that are military veterans. After earning her victimology certification in 2010 she became certified by Mental Health First Aid USA. Currently, she is the lead Academic Counselor for the JCAST Advising Center. She has been an academic counselor in JCAST for 8 years but overall worked on campus for 22 years.
Education: Nyxy is a two-time graduate of Fresno State, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and her Master of Science in Counseling Option in Student Affairs and College Counseling.
Personal: Nyxy is a big professional tennis fan. She will be attending the US Open in New York to see her favorite player Roger Federer in the late summer 2026! She loves going to concerts, listening to music and taking pictures. She loves the outdoors, which includes going camping, going to the beach and spending time with her family.
Choua Vang

Experience: Prior to Choua's current position as an Academic Counselor, she was a Graduation Coach within the Jordan College Advising and Career Development Center, where she provided targeted advising for students in agriculture.
Education: Choua is a two-time alumna of Fresno State, where she achieved a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and a Master of Science in Counseling, option in Student Affairs and College Counseling. Additionally, Choua completed a minor in Hmong, further enriching her ability to engage with diverse student populations.
Personal: Outside of her professional responsibilities, Choua is passionate about photography and traveling. She enjoys capturing comments through her camera lens and discovering new places. She values and cherishes quality time with her family and loved ones, all of which contribute to her overall well-being and personal fulfillment.
Marcos Rosas
START Program Academic Counselor | marcosrosas@mail.fresnostate.edu
Experience: Marcos has over seven years of experience supporting students in educational settings. His most recent position was as the Administrative Assistant for Fresno State’s Upward Bound Programs, overseeing program coordination, budgets, recruitment, and staff hiring. Previously, he served as a Program Assistant/Recruiter for Upward Bound and as a Paraeducator with Community Youth Ministries. He also contributes to the Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project - CVI Conference as a committee member.
Education: Marcos is pursuing a Master of Science in Student Affairs and College Counseling at California State University, Fresno. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chicano Studies from Fresno State and an Associate of Arts in Sociology from Reedley College.
Personal: He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and likes to travel to the coast when given the chance. He is also a big One Piece fan!
Erwin Garrido
Coordinator of Internships & Professional Experiences | egarrido@mail.fresnostate.edu
Experience: Having recently served as an Associate Director of Career Services at La Sierra University, Erwin oversaw departmental operations including staff recruitment, employer partnerships, student job and internship placement, and career workshops. Erwin enjoys spearheading career events and providing impacting experiences for students!
Previously, he directed the Career Department at Pacific Union College, guiding students in career development and coordinating job fairs and employer networking events.
Erwin has a passion for employer development, building community partnerships and creating student success through internships and job placement.
Education: Erwin holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources from the University of Phoenix–Fresno.
Personal: A Los Angeles native and proud father of three, Erwin brings a warm, down-to-earth style—he might say he’s “specialized in Dad jokes.” He’s active outside the office, enjoying hiking, playing basketball (Lakers fan), and recently participating in a HYROX fitness event in Anaheim in 2024! On the job-market side, his varied background counseling students, coordinating programs, and collaborating with professionals across industries gives him a wide-angle perspective on skill building and career readiness.
