Compensating Interns
“How much should I pay an intern?” is a common question for employers. The National Association of Colleges and Employers has provided a scale to assist in setting compensation levels.
| Level in School | Pay Rate |
|---|---|
| Freshman | 60% of pay rate for a new graduate |
| Sophomore | 67% of pay rate for a new graduate |
| Junior | 75% of pay rate for a new graduate |
| Senior | 80% of pay rate for a new graduate |
| Graduate student | 75% of pay rate for a new graduate with a graduate degree |
