"The most as positive aspect with the Ag bond program was the support and motivation, I receive from my advisor Choua Vang."

"AgBond has helped me by reinsuring that I’m on track, by focusing on the most efficient systems to achieve my goal as a plant science major."

-AgBOND Student

"What I would consider a strength of the AgBond program would be the peer mentorships that were provided throughout the semester. Not only does this allow you to form a connection with someone in your department, but it also allows you to have a trusted adult with whom you could discuss your college experiences and ask questions that you may have."

"I learned a lot about many different scientific studies about the world of a undergraduate student, a well as learned about the genetic alignments of different dog breeds. I really enjoyed the topics that helped us as well as the guest speakers that would teach us about fresno state's programs that would benefit us as students overall."

“The most positive experiences have been when my group is stuck on something and the ISAs or Dr.Tarrant help us understand what we need to do and how we should do it.”

“The AG bond program is a good way to get the feel of the way college works for freshman it gives information on resources on campus. They also focus on the learning techniques you will be using in your Major giving you an idea if this really for you. It is also a way to find some friends to because it likely that you might have other classes together which can help with other classes too. Also learning how to build your resume online, academically, learning to bring your credibility to an actual professional level.”

"I think AgBOND is a great way to meet new people and understand what Fresno State can do to help you through your college career. I found my internship through hirefresnostate and I picked it because I am really interested in forestry and conservation and have always wanted to work in the Forest Service. I am really loving my internship so far. I love working outside and I’ve learned a lot about the different jobs in the forest service and how the FS works. I’ve made lots of great connections as well."

– Samuel Willis, AgBOND Student

“The AgBong program provides a variety of professional opportunities to students who are willing to take their education and career to a higher level.”

“The AgBond program is very productive and useful for the agricultural field. It teaches you how to do research and makes you investigate real world problems that farmers have to deal with. It's also a great way to get your foot in the door to try to solve problems that you see in the ag world, and who knows, it could lead into a way for one to make a living if they successfully solve a problem that is a major issue.”

"The strengths of the AgBond program would have to be that all of the assignments that we had to complete which are listed above were important. Each assignment had a purpose in that it either rolled over to the next assignment or can be applied in the real world. I didn't feel as if I was wasting my time completing assignments that were just busy work. Rather I felt as if each assignment could help me in the future which allowed me to put in as much effort as possible. Another factor was that I felt as if you as a professor went out of your way to give us as much feedback as possible which eased the stress. We knew what to correct and how to correct it in order to earn the grade we wanted. Appreciate having you as a professor. Wish you all the best!"

"I really enjoyed that it gave us opportunities to get out and be a part of the campus. As well as giving us knowledge about scholarship opportunities. "

"I believe that the strengths of the Ag bond program are that they are trying to get you prepared for later in college and to give you a head start in the work force by trying to push you to do internships and get jobs that correlate to your major. I was very happy with the 2 professors that I've had in these CSM classes, they want you to be successful when you leave there classroom and enter the real world. They want you to be ahead of the game while you are in college so you won't get lost when you graduate. It's probably one of the best stepping stones for a college student to take because most kids are lost when they enter college and this class with push you to find a job that you love so that you can focus your time and energy into that one subject."

-AgBond Student

"The AgBond program was a great experience as it taught me a lot about researching and writing scientific papers. From APA citations to learning how to read a scientific journal article and making understandable graphs, I have learned many things about how to think scientifically."

-AgBond Student

“I really enjoyed the career readiness activities and how they gave us the opportunity to go out and meet people around campus. another thing that stood out to me during this course was their readiness to answer questions and take time to make sure you understand.”

-AgBond Student

“Somethings that I really enjoyed about the AgBond program included the peer mentor meetings that we would have to attend as it allowed me to have a one-on-one experience with someone who's in my degree of interest. This also allowed me to have a trusted adult to talk to if I ever had any questions about campus or school in general. Along with this I also enjoyed the group presentation that we created as it allowed us to form and have a deeper understanding about our specific group topic.”

-AgBond Student

“I'm able to tell prospective employers ‘I have experience reading scientific writing, and I understand the different parts of a research project.’  It also helps that I'm able to prove I understand scientific processes, since I teach students how to properly conduct and read research.”

– Erik Rodriguez Instructional Student Assistant for AgBOND

“My current job is an Instructional Student Assistant, and I was given this position because I was a part of the JCAST trial-run of the CSM Bond program. By experiencing both last year’s CSM and this year’s CSM, it has really put into perspective how important this work is for agriculture-related projects. When students go forward in their career, they can use this experience to better draft their critical thinking abilities sharpened through this project.”

– Haylee McFall, Instructional Student Assistant for AgBOND

“I think that it is very productive, builds creativity with a specific ag related topic, I think that it pushes students to get in the agricultural aspect of college quick and also makes you think of ways you can improve the agricultural world.”
