Annette E. Levi was an Agricultural Business professor at Fresno State who retired
after the spring of 2026 and received professor emerita honors. She received her Ph.D.
in Agricultural Economics in 1990 from Washington State University. Her academic specialty
was in agricultural marketing with a focus on consumer demand for horticultural products,
wine and other beverages. She conducted research in the areas of how various demographic
characteristics impact food choice as well as working on agricultural labor issues.
Levi is an exemplary teacher who has worked on program evaluation, department five-year
reviews, and curriculum assessment. Dr. Levi's research results have been published
in The Journal of Foodservice, Journal of American College Health, Journal of International
Food and Agribusiness Marketing, and the Journal of Food Distribution Research. She
helped integrate study abroad programs with agribusiness experiences on multiple continents,
and collaborated on small projects with various agribusinesses in California. She
received the Jordan College's highest teaching award, the Salgo-Noren/NACTA Excellence
in Teaching Award in 2021.
