Meat Science Student Spotlight

(May 15, 2023) -- Congratulations to recent Fresno State graduate degree recipient Montserrat Perez Valadez who was selected as an American Meat Science Association Meat Cleaver Award recipient among master's student applicants nationally that demonstrate excellence in teaching in the field.  

Fresno State Meat Science faculty Dr. Amanda McKeith said, "Without a doubt, Ms. Perez is definitely deserving of this award and embodies the resilient nature that a meat cleaver is designed to encompass. The metal of a cleaver is tough and has a thick blade, just like Montserrat, she has learned to adapt to new situations therefore becoming unique and more durable than her peers in and out of the classroom."
