Innovative company pitch event caps busy World Ag Expo

World Ag Expo program

The WET Center Innovation Pitch Event at the recent World Ag Expo was a success!

Six companies presented their technology and services (Umida Ag, AgXactly, BovControl, Eco2Mix, Relyion Energy and Mojave Seafood Inc.) which hail from the BlueTech Valley innovation cluster and the Valley Ventures accelerator (which the WET Center organizes). Each company is also sponsored by the California Energy Commission and U.S. Economic Development Administration.

The company presentations engaged in a myriad of topics, including but not limited to energy, irrigation, water and technology, and were followed by questions from the audience.

This pitch competition did not select winners but instead offered the chance for attendees at the event (that welcomes 100,000 visitors and industry leaders and influencers from around the world) to engage with others who are solving critical issues that the water, energy and ag tech industries are experiencing.

Over the course of the three-day World Ag Expo, California Water Institute Associate Director Laura Ramos also hosted her popular Water Boot Camp Series among the 20 events and presentations (see complete list) that featured Jordan College staff, faculty, students and supporters of our campus agriculture and water programs and research.
