Equine Enterprise
The Mane Event
The Fresno State Equine Program would like to invite you to the first-ever fundraising dinner, The Mane Event. The dinner will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2024 at the Fresno State Animal Science Pavilion. We would be extremely grateful for your involvement with this fundraiser for the Equine unit and would like to take this evening to celebrate the Equine world and thank you for your support!
Currently, the Equine Program provides a hands-on learning environment for all of the equine science classes as well as some courses in animal science. Students may utilize the unit with their class to gain knowledge on colt breaking, stable management, horse production, feeds and nutrition, and equine reproduction. In addition to providing real world experience to students. The unit also has many volunteers and employees who come from various backgrounds. Some are new to equine and are hoping to get an idea of what the industry has to offer, while others are seasoned horsemen and women who are looking to hone in their equine skills.
The Equine Program has a long tradition as a premier unit on campus where students can gain hands-on learning and real-world, industry experience. Proceeds from the fundraiser will support the Equine Program, including but not limited to updating laboratories, riding arenas, trainings, student travel, scholarship and club support.
Our hope is to create a more consistent bridge for students and industry leaders to partner in continuing our Equine World. We currently offer internships with partnering facilities in our area to provide a variety of learning experiences for our students. If you are interested in hosting interns through Fresno State at your facility, please contact Dr. Alyx Iared at fsequineunit@gmail.com
We look forward to celebrating with you at The Mane Event!
