August Grape Day event to showcase viticulture, enology research
The latest findings from an assortment of research projects will be showcased at Fresno State next month at Grape Day, set for Aug. 14 and hosted by the Viticulture and Enology Department.
The biennial event is designed to disseminate information to the grape and wine industry and to showcase the university s viticulture and enology research and education programs. Besides technical and poster presentations, activities will include field visits. Faculty, staff and students will address a variety of grape and wine topics, including findings from industry-funded projects.
Grape Day typically draws more than 100 participants, including grape growers, pest control advisers and winery personnel representing the regional grape and wine industry.
The half-day program opens with registration at 7:30 a.m. and concludes at 1 p.m. Advance registration is $15 per person through July 31 and $20 after that. For more information visit http://jcast.csufresno.edu/ve/ or call 559.278.2089.
