Larynne was inspired to pursue a career in Ag Education because she wanted to positively impact and educate the next generation of agriculturalists! Through her experiences in FFA working closely with Mr. Dave Segna and Mrs. Monique Reid, they have both inspired her to pursue the Ag Education profession. She earned her associates degree at Modesto Junior College and her bachelor’s degree at Fresno State with an emphasis in Animal Science. Her Ag Education courses at MJC as well as at Fresno State, inspired her to continue in the profession as she enjoys learning how to be a better teacher as well as building relationships with others. She completed her initial student teaching at Clovis-East and is completing her final student teaching at El Capitan-Merced. Through her student teaching experience, she has notably seen the value of building relationships with students and how FFA builds student leaders. She helped to advise the Sheep SAE at Clovis-East. She is coaching BIG at El Capitan and is helping with numerous SAE projects. The greatest skill she learned from student teaching is to always be open to new learning experiences. Her future goals entail working in the Central Valley and obtaining her master’s degree. Outside of teaching her hobbies include crocheting and she hopes to open her own show pig operation in ten years. A personal connection she has to Agriculture is that she is a previous manager of the Fresno State Swine Unit under the supervision of Dr. Scott Williamson.
