Over the years, I have had a great appreciation for teachers and the impacts they
have on students' lives because I have witnessed both of my parents as well as my
brother build relationships with their students. Growing up surrounded by agriculture,
what inspired me to pursue a degree in Agriculture Education was seeing the long lasting
impact my agriculture education teacher had on me, and I hope to make the same impact
on my students.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Agriculture Education - Teacher Preparation
from California State University, Fresno. Being involved in Sigma Alpha Professional
Agricultural sorority helped further my passion for agriculture education. I completed
my student teaching at Visalia Technical Early College (VTEC) for initial and I will
be completing my final student teaching at Tulare High School Ag Farm. I have taught
Introduction to Plant Science, Plant and Soil Science, and I will soon be teaching
Agriscience 1, Livestock, Agriculture Biology, and Ag Mech 1. I am grateful for notable
experiences such as building relationships with mentor teachers, assisting with advising
students livestock projects at the Tulare County Fair, as well as being involved in
FFA meetings, and banquets. Coaching teams such as Opening and Closing and Dairy Products
has helped improve my leadership and communication skills as an educator. Upon completing
my student teaching, my goal is to become a high school agriculture teacher.
I hope to provide all of my students from diverse backgrounds with all of the necessary
tools to succeed in their future endeavors, and provide unique opportunities for students
to experience the various aspects of agriculture. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending
time with my family, attending livestock shows, rodeos, and building connections with
individuals from the agriculture industry.
