Katelyn Gross was inspired to pursue a career in agricultural education through the guidance and mentorship of her high school advisors, who encouraged her passion for agriculture and teaching. Katelyn completed her undergraduate degree in Agricultural Education at California State University, Fresno as well as earned her Associate’s Degree in Agricultural Science from Modesto Junior College.
Katelyn completed her initial student teaching placement at Minarets High School, where she taught Sustainable Biology, and Introduction to Floral. This experience allowed her to gain valuable insight on day-to-day responsibilities of an agriculture educator. Katelyn is currently completing her final student teaching placement at Turlock High School, where she is teaching Sustainable Biology, Ag Chemistry, Introduction to Floral, and Agricultural Engineering. During this placement, she has worked closely with her cooperating teachers and department staff, gaining insight into curriculum planning, classroom management, and program development. Katelyn also assists with FFA activities, coaches the Best Informed Greenhand team, and helps supervise student SAE projects.
Katelyn Gross’ career goal is to become a high school agricultural education teacher. She hopes to create a supportive, hands-on learning environment where students feel encouraged to grow both academically and personally. Outside of the classroom, Katelyn remains involved in youth development as a staff member at Stanislaus County 4-H Camp, and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
