Giulia Ghimenti

Student Teacher

Area of Emphasis: Plant Science

Fall 2024 Initial Student Teaching Placement: Tulare High School

Spring 2025 Final Student Teaching Placement: Lemoore High School

Ever since I was little, I have always wanted to be a teacher. Many of my family members are retired teachers and several are still teaching. From the first time I stepped into my first AG class my freshman year I quickly decided this is what I wanted to do. My AG teacher was a huge inspiration and mentor, and still is. He was caring, supportive, encouraging, and passionate in and out of the classroom. He pushed me to try new things and put myself out there. He made such an impact on my life that I hope to do the same with my future students.

I completed my Agriculture Education - Teacher Preparation with an emphasis in Plant Science at California State University - Fresno. I am an Alumna of Sigma Alpha Sorority a professional women in agriculture sorority. This organization gave me many opportunities to meet different AG organizations within the Central Valley. Sigma Alpha is a well known Professional Sorority throughout the United States which allows women to be a part of a sisterhood with similar interests.

My initial student teaching was completed at Tulare Unified at the Tulare School Farm and I am currently finishing my final student teaching at Lemoore High School. I have taught Agriscience 1, Animal Science 2, Ag Biology, Floral Design, Ag Mechanics, and Ag Leadership classes. Students grade level span Freshman through Senior.

FFA has played an important role in my teaching and career development. I have helped coach a Nursery Landscape competition team and helped coach Opening and Closing Ceremony teams. I enjoyed coaching these teams and look forward to coaching and supervising teams and SAE projects in the future.

I have planned, organized, and hosted a local field day for Nursery Landscape for multiple years. I have judged Opening and Closing Ceremony competitions and Prepared Public Speaking competitions. I have volunteered to help with the Fresno State field day overseeing the Ag Mechanics and Floral Design competitions.

My goal is to be hired as a teacher within the plant science and AG mechanics pathways. I want to encourage, support, and challenge my future students. Through challenging courses and hands on experiences I hope to have an exemplary program. I want to have my program recognized within the community and throughout Central California High Schools.

Some hobbies that I enjoy are traveling, working with animals, planting and growing plants, and spending time with family and friends. I was raised in the country on a vineyard ranch. My family raised Quarter Horses and A Guide Dog for the Blind. My father works for John Deere Tractor Company. My brother works for Syngenta Vegetable Seeds as a salesman for the Central Valley.
