My love for animals and taking care of them inspired me to pursue a career in Agricultural
Education. I have always loved animals and now that we have a farm, I knew I wanted
to continue taking care of animals like I do at home. I originally planned to be a
Veterinarian but was always told I was a good teacher so I chose that route.
I completed my AS in Biological Science and AA in Liberal Arts and Sciences: Natural
Sciences from Madera Community College. I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Teacher
Prep: Agricultural Education May 2024 from Fresno State. I also have an LVN license
I got from Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts in 2019.
I completed my Initial Student Teaching at Madera South High School. I taught Agriculture
Science 1, Agriculture Mechanics 2 Welding, and Diesels. I taught 1 lab in Agriculture
Physics. I encountered many challenges during my student teaching time such as content
knowledge, understanding the knowledge of students, giving good feedback, planning,
and creating group activities. During my time there, I have learned how to handle
these challenges and have improved significantly. I got to experience FFA meetings,
my first Opening and Closing contest teams and Memorizing the Creed.
I was not involved in FFA when I was in High school so this has been new to me. I
have participated in almost every FFA meeting we have had from Fiesta nights to Casino
night. I have helped coach Opening and Closing and we created 2 teams to present.
I helped our Freshmen identify SAE projects, helped students obtain resources needed
for their SAE projects and how to document them in AET.
My specialization is in Agricultural Mechanics. During my student teaching experience,
I have developed more of a professional but friendly teaching style. I have been able
to be a shoulder for my students to lean on and honest enough to learn alongside them.
My leadership skills have improved as well as being firm, fair, and friendly.
