Courtney Coito is excited to pursue a career in agricultural education and to become a positive role model for students. As a quiet and shy freshman entering her first agricultural class, she was inspired and forever changed by the experience. Her agricultural advisor challenged her to step outside her comfort zone and introduced her to a world of opportunity through FFA.
Following high school, Courtney enrolled at California State University, Fresno, where she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education. She graduated in May 2025 as a cum laude graduate. In addition to maintaining strong academic performance, she worked multiple jobs throughout her four years in Fresno.
One of her most impactful experiences occurred outside the classroom working as a part-time Educator at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. In this role, she developed her teaching style and gained valuable classroom management skills. Her passion for education was further strengthened through this experience, and she is grateful for the opportunity to teach in an informal educational setting, which later transferred to both her initial and final student teaching experiences.
She completed her initial student teaching assignment at Madera Liberty High School, where she worked with students in grades 7–12. During this experience, she built strong relationships with students to enhance support and promote academic success. She taught a variety of courses, including Agricultural Biology, Agricultural Chemistry, Introduction to Agriculture, and Advanced Agricultural Mechanics.
She will continue her student teaching journey by completing her final student teaching placement at Mendota High School, where she will teach Advanced Sustainable Agriculture, Agricultural Chemistry, and ROP Construction. Courtney is committed to working diligently and building meaningful relationships with her students and colleagues to foster positive learning environments and cultivate a lasting appreciation for agriculture. She is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn from others and gain as much experience as possible.
