What inspired me to to pressure agriculture education was my teachers in high school
that showed me how great agriculture education is and being around agriculture my
whole life it felt like a right choice to pursue this career.
I completed my undergraduate degree at Fresno State but I began my journey at Reedley
College. I have been Agriculture Education with an emphasis in Agriculture Mechanics
throughout my undergrad. Some notable experiences in my undergrad was being able to
work on campus such as working at the Meat Lab and take advantage of the many great
Ag Mech classes available. I completed my initial student teaching at El Diamanté
and I am finaling at Golden West, both in Visalia. I have touched ag mech in both
sites and will be teaching Ag Bio as well.
FFA plays a large role in my teaching and career development. It is where I started
and where I learned how to public speak, to interview, and how to network. Some skills
that I possess in Agriculture Education is Agricultural mechanics. I was able to teach
forklift operations and safety at El Diamante and will teach small engines in my next
site. My career goals after completing student teaching is to hopefully get a job
in the Central Valley and make an impact in my community and as well pursue my masters
degree. Some hobbies that I like to do out side of teaching is I love to workout and
I love the outdoors. I do have personal connections to agriculture my father was a
butcher for over 20 years and I am from a farming town so I was involved with stone
fruit at a young age.
