Department of Industrial Technology
Admission Requirements
The masters program in Industrial Technology requires an undergraduate degree in Industrial Technology, Technology Education or related areas such as Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, Technology Management, etc. All applicants are expected to have done preliminary courses in production operations, computer aided design, etc as part of their baccalaureate degree. Please contact the Graduate Coordinator to see if your degree meets the requirements before you begin the application process. Applicants must also have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in the last 60 units of their undergraduate degree.
Prospective candidates are required to submit the following documents as part of their application package:
- Application form (at https://www2.calstate.edu/apply)
- Current resume
- Three letters of recommendations
- Statement of purpose
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores - The typical scores expected in the various sections are Quantitative - 144 , Verbal - 140, Analytical - 3.0 / 6.0
- English Language Proficiency - TOEFL - 80 (iBT) OR IELTS - 6.5 OR Duolingo - 105 OR Pearson Test of English - 53 OR iTEP - 4.5
The minimum scores on these standardized tests are to be used only as a guideline. Meeting these guidelines does not guarantee admission into the program. The application package will be evaluated in its entirety, not solely on these scores.
Transfer Requirements
In order to transfer from another department within the University into the graduate program in Industrial Technology, the department requires a minimum GPA of 2.75 in addition to the aforementioned requirements. Please contact the Graduate Coordinator prior to applying to transfer.
