Ag One Foundation
Thank you supporting the
Kern County Alumni & Friends Event!
Thank you for attending the 44th annual Kern County Luncheon, A Showcase of Opportunities, on Wednesday, January 31 hosted by The Wonderful Company.
It was fantastic to see so many stakeholders plus prospective Fresno State agriculture
majors at The Wonderful Plant Pathology Division laboratories in Shafter. We hope
you had an opportunity to meet Rolston St. Hilaire, Dean of the Jordan College of
Agricultural Sciences and Technology along with the student agricultural ambassadors,
faculty and staff who were in attendance. The students from Bakersfield College, Independence
High School, Mira Monte High School and Ridgeview High School left with a better understanding
of the educational opportunities at Fresno State while learning more about our host,
The Wonderful Company and career opportunities post graduation.
Fresno State is proud to play a role in the lives of students like Pablo Vasquez,
a sophomore majoring in agricultural business. He graduated from McFarland High School
in Kern County and is one of the recipients of the Ag One-Carl and Barbara Fanucchi
scholarship this year. His advice to the students who attended the lunch included
getting involved with campus student groups and to be sure to apply for scholarships.
He thanked the Fanucchi family and everyone who attended for supporting his higher
education pursuits.
Thank you to Ag One president Roger Isom and Wonderful Orchards President Rob Yraceburu
for their inspiring messages. They give Fresno State another reason to be proud. We
also want to thank Bernard Puget, Vice President of Farming at Wonderful Orchards
and everyone at The Wonderful Company who went out of their way to help Ag One with
the lunch. We'd be remiss to not thank our planning committee too!
Finally, thank you once more for your support of Fresno State agriculture. We hope to see you at next year's lunch, if not sooner.
