Samuel Kenneth "Butch" Peters Endowment

Samuel Kenneth “Butch” Peters was born on May 25, 1937, in Fowler, California, to Karnig and Barbara Peters. He was 86 years old when he passed away. Butch grew up in Fowler, CA, as a second generation Armenian decedent from Bitlis Armenia. He grew up in Fowler where he was surrounded by many families that were survivors of the Armenian Genocide. Upon graduating from Fowler High School in 1955, he attended Fresno State College earning a degree in Viticulture. Butch was a lifelong farmer. He also worked at an animal veterinary supply company, Walco. There, he started as a warehouse worker, worked his way up to a salesman and eventually regional manager. He made countless friends during his tenure at Walco. Many of them were still in touch with him after his retirement in 1996.
Butch married to Regina Drew in 1963 and spent 59 years together traveling, running the family farm and raising a family of three children and eight grandchildren. He was a very faithful devoted Christian, a dedicated husband, father and friend to all. His warm and caring nature led him to be loved and respected by all those he met. Butch enjoyed deep sea fishing, attending Fresno State Bulldog Basketball and Football games, camping with “The Boys”, checking on the ranches and helping people who were less fortunate than he was. He served as President of the Leon S Peters Foundation for many years continuing Uncle Leon’s passion of giving back to the community of Fresno.
A special thank you to all of the people at Fresno and Clovis Community Hospitals, all his doctors and everyone who helped keep his body, mind and soul healthy during the difficult times in his life. Butch is preceded in death by his parents, brother Darrell “Bud” Peters, daughter in law Inkeri Kela Peters., Brother in laws Ron Shein, Patrick Drew, and John Drew, sister in law Doris Coats, Mary White and his favorite dog Shemp.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Peters; son Kenneth Peters and fiancée Laurel Skinner; favorite daughter Corinne Peters and son Matthew Peters. Grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Nicholas Christopher and Alina Peters; Zachary, Ashlee, Emilee and Gracee Peters. He is also survived by his brother David Peters, sister Patricia Shein, many cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all.
