Support the Human Nutrition Sciences Lab

The Fresno State Human Nutritional Sciences Program offers undergraduate and graduate students a host of resources to professionally train them to serve the health needs of the residents of the San Joaquin Valley and beyond. The program is made up of two distinguished career specialties in Nutritional Sciences and a Didactic Program in Dietetics. These programs are part of the food science and nutrition department in the Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology - one of eight colleges on campus committed to producing dynamic, innovative, and productive leaders.

Recently, the Jordan College launched an effort to establish a Human Nutrition Science Laboratory, where students will be provided hands-on experiences that focus on food and nutrient metabolism and related disorders. The development of this basic science lab will be a much-needed addition to the newly-developed Nutritional Sciences career option. The Human Nutrition Science Laboratory lab will be located on Fresno State’s campus at the Food and Agriculture Research building (FAR).

The first-phase goal of $250,000 will provide the required equipment and space to launch this new laboratory. Once the laboratory is established, the second-phase goal is an additional $1 million endowment to permanently fund the ongoing needs and growth of the Human Nutritional Sciences program.
