2017 Fantasy Vacation Winners

Congratulations to our Fantasy Vacation winners, Gary and Marnie Visser!

The 2017 Fantasy Vacation raffle was once again a fun and exciting drawing. The raffle is one of Ag One's efforts to provide financial support to the deserving student, as well as supporting the many programs in the Jordan College. Thank you to everyone who supported through sponsorships, donations and raffle ticket purchases. Every year, one lucky Fantasy Vacation winning ticket is drawn at the Ag Boosters BBQ. This year's Fantasy Vacation winners are Gary and Marnie Visser from Arroyo Grande. Gary is a Fresno State alumnus from the Craig School of Business ('72) and his wife Marnie is an alumna from the Jordan College ('73). They will get to choose from our Fantasy Vacation offerings, which include: an Alaskan Cruisre, America's National Parks, the Azores Islands, Costa Rica, the Greek Islands or the Iberian Tapestry. Congratulations Gary and Marnie!

Below is a description of 2017's Fantasy Vacation opportunies:

Alaskan Cruise

Enjoy the leisure of a 10-day journey through North American waters from San Francisco to Alaska. Capture an incredible view of the wildlife - picture a coast lined with brown bears fetching salmon from the crisp water, gaze at beautiful bald eagles flying above, marvel at breaching 40-ton humpback whales. Plus, take advantage of the spectacular glacier-viewing opportunities.

America’s National Parks

Experience the heart of America’s deep history on this 10-day excursion. Visit the Crazy Horse memorial followed by the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Journey to the Little Bighorn Battlefield and tour the battlegrounds where Custer was defeated. Make a stop at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, then continue through the Shoshone National Forest to Yellowstone National Park. Visit the breathtaking glacier-fed Jenny Lake at Grand Teton National Park and conclude with a sightseeing tour of Salt Lake City.

Azores Islands

For all the Portuguese friends in our great Ag community! Explore the beauty of magnificent Azores – an outline of garden-like islands on the horizons of the Atlantic Ocean. You will be impressed by the sapphire blue and emerald green lakes, fertile prairies, colorful hydrangeas and azaleas, 15th century churches and majestic manor houses. These poetically-named islands enjoy year-round mild temperatures. Spend seven nights on two islands - San Miguel and Terceira - or tailor your trip to the islands of your choice.

Costa Rica

This 7-day adventure will cover the highlights of this beautiful country from rainforests to volcanos to coffee plantations. Travel to Poas Volcano for an up-close view of the enormous crater and its deep green lake. After a visit to Arenal National Park, venture into the jungle canopy on the Arenal Hanging Bridges followed by a stop at Tabacon Hot Springs. Enjoy a Tropical Mangrove Cruise down the Tarcoles River, home to one of the largest crocodile colonies in the world. For the last stop, visit the stunning white sand beaches and evergreen tropical forests at Manuel Antonio National Park.

Greek Islands

10 days of stunning scenery, sun-soaked beaches, the crystal-clear Aegean Sea and tasty Greek cuisine. Your tour starts in Athens with guided sightseeing and a visit to the Acropolis. Sail into the deep-blue waters of the Aegean Sea and spend three nights on the island of Mykonos which has a beautiful seafront village, sandy beaches, famous windmills, and whitewash houses. Then spend three nights in Santorini where you can stroll the cobblestone streets and enjoy tastings at famous wineries.

Iberian Tapestry

This 9-day Spain and Portugal tour weaves together the sights and cultures of their most famous cities—Lisbon, Barcelona, Madrid, Toledo, and Seville. Fans of art and architecture are sure to be delighted by the visits to Barcelona's Sagrada Familia Basilica, architect Gaudi's masterpiece. In Madrid, visit the famous Prado Museum, which houses 8,000 pieces of Western painting. In Toledo, visit the 13th-century gothic cathedral. In Seville, visit the Casa de Pilatos, with a splendid collection of Roman sculptures.
