Public Policy Corner

The continually evolving profession of Dietetics recognizes the importance of advocacy and public policy due to its’ effect on the clinical setting and the practitioner's scope of practice, school food service, and the community setting. With public policy being recognized by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®) as a key component of the Dietetics student’s curriculum, it is recommended students are informed about legislative issues affecting their profession and know how to make a difference!

YOU can help build a healthier community by becoming aware of the easy steps to take to make your priorities law! The easiest way to participate as a dietetic student would be to act on action alerts when they’re sent to your email from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). These action alerts take 2-3 minutes to complete; learn how to do it here!
