Dr. Xu earned her M.S. in Applied Economics from University of Alaska, Fairbanks (2004)
and Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics at Purdue University (2007). She began teaching
at Fresno State in 2011. Her courses are in agribusiness accounting management, agricultural
statistics, and agribusiness management. Her research focuses on consumer behavior
analysis.

She received the Provost's Award for Distinguished Achievement in Research, Scholarship
or Creative Accomplishment in 2023, based on her 35 peer reviewed journal articles
(and more than 500 citations), 45 academic presentations at professional conferences,
13 project reports and other publications.
In 2024, she received the Apex Award - the highest honor bestowed by the Purdue Agricultural
Economics Department, which recognizes individuals with a strong connection to the
department who have made outstanding contributions in their fields.
